Title: The Windy City (Umbrella People)
Dimensions: 8’ x 8’ room installation
Medium: Mixed media
Year: 2013
As a graduate of OCADU for Sculpture and Installation, I had a few moments of wild creativity that lead to this piece. I wanted to create an opposite world thinking: What if we switched places with everyday objects? Does this give us an odd empathy for the objects we use? As you can tell I wasn’t the best at documentation back then… I’ve grown and know better now. I love doing installations like this that are humourous but also make the audience contemplate mundane objects.
This piece was a temporary installation and was disassembled and recycled where possible.
